Linus Baker leads a quiet life. At forty, he has a tiny house with a devious cat and his beloved records for company. And at the Department in Charge of Magical Youth, he’s spent many dull years monitoring their orphanages.
Then one day, Linus is summoned by Extremely Upper Management and given a highly classified assignment. He must travel to an orphanage where six dangerous children reside – including the Antichrist.
At the orphanage, Linus must somehow determine if they could bring about the end of days. But their guardian, the charming and enigmatic Arthur Parnassus, will do anything to protect his wards. And, as Arthur and Linus grow ever closer, Linus must choose: his duty, or his dreams . . .

Fascinating and truly beautiful story celebrating our uniquenesses. I very much enjoyed the reader too, who brought life to each character and gave the written word many new dimentions with their interpretation of the characters. Listen to it!

A book that could warm the coldest of hearts (and the readers variations of voices for the different characters were absolutely astounding and hilarious) GREAT WORK!!!

Pff I’m rounding up to 3 because I’ll probably remember the book. But it’s total cliché town.Even though it had heartwarming moments (still made up by clichés, but some of my personal favorites :)), so i was more inclined to ignore them) overall it is not a book enjoyable in adulthood. It takes nowadays problems and forcefully inserts them into the story line so it would be actual. I think it may be a good book to read when u r 11-12 for getting a sense of societal rights and wrongs.
