I was hooked instantly and I had to finish listening to this original book as soon as possible. The story relies mainly on a perverse but honest depiction of the thoughts of a man in his late 20s who is in between two relationships. The story is actually satirical and cynical; hence, it is important to have a sense of humor when tackling it. Although, the protagonist and his friends Todd (str8) and Carlos (gay) at a first glance have questionable and sexist attitudes about women, men and relationships, they are to an extent likable due to their honesty and straightforwardness. I discovered the author when listening to the @GameOfRosesPod podcast which he co-hosts (with alias @bachelorclues) and became curious about his career as a writer. I have now realized that he is not only a smart and analytical podcaster but also a damn good contemporary writer of fiction. Furthermore, he has an amazing voice and it was a true pleasure to listen to him for hours in a row. Just like his podcasts.
