Almost a 5 ⭐️, but I felt the author dragged their time apart out by not giving them (mostly her refusal) the tools to communicate, even though it was WAY overdue. She was willing to let him go, to what, prove a point? I figured he showed in so many ways he was committed, but I guess the plot needed some extra angst 🤷‍♀️

Sweet and slow burning insta-lu(st)ve between a surly dirty talking cowboy-billionaire and his new intern, a big hearted cupcake Barbie with an MBA. Most of it feels a bit textbook, but it kinda works up until the last few chapters. Keeping it together even though it shifts from “enemies to lovers” / “office faux-mance” to a “meet the family” / “small town” romance. Sadly when it finally heats up it just flashes a few dirty sizzles that leaves the reader confused as it slides straight into the obligatory 3:rd act breakup. Which dragged on as the angst became OTT with lots of sad and repetitive self-bashing, topped by an absolutely syrupy sweet epilogue that unfortunately left a nasty aftertaste. I’m still confused and not sure about this author.
