I was recommended this book from someone who thought I would enjoy it even though I mostly read fantasy novels these days. And they were right! Even though I wasn't entirely sure what I was reading for the first two thirds (was it really horror-horror or teenage girl angst-horror?) but as I was born in the 70's the book was quite a walk down memory lane, so I enjoyed it anyway and just went with it. First thing after finishing reading was to create a playlist according to the chapters. :DI am not sure if I had liked it this much if I didn't have been a teen myself in 1988, with all the songs, the snacks, the 80's language, the movies,... It's not a typical horror story in my world so if that's what you are expecting (horror with gore and torture, monster and obvious evil) and you were not a kid in the 80's) you might be disappointed. But there is of course also the possibility you might get sucked into the story like I was. If in doubt I say give it a try!
