Life has a way of doing a 360-degree turn, and for Athena Burgess, hers is about to come in full circle when she returns home to St. Louis, Missouri after eight years. She abruptly ran to Kansas City to live with her mother and finish out her senior year of high school after Hermes Rogers, one of the most popular boys at her high school, broke her heart. Things have changed in the time she was gone, and Hermes was just elected Mayor of St. Louis. How will she react when they come face to face for the first time after all of these years? 

Hermes Rogers rose to the top quickly as a promising young politician, marrying his high school sweetheart, Tyche, shortly after his election. They are a young power couple looking to go all the way to the top, no matter the cost. And with Hermes’s father being the biggest drug dealer in the city and Tyche’s father being a state senator, there’s no way they could lose, right? 

That is... until Athena comes back into the picture. A lot of drama awaits them in this War of Hearts.

Emotions are running high now that lines have been drawn. Athena felt vindicated after throwing all of Sable’s clothes over the balcony. Also, she skillfully grabbed a file out of Sable’s safe that had some inflammatory information on Ares. Sable was convinced that it was Athena’s sneaky ass that had come up in her apartment and violated her, so when Sergeant Day came to investigate the crime, and found out Sable was Ares’s estranged girlfriend, an interesting friendship emerged between the two of them, out of Kem’s necessity to get rid of Ares. 

Hermes’s affair with Hera is in full swing, and their feelings are starting to get deeper for each other. Hermes is getting tired of Tyche’s self-absorbed attitude, and his actions are making her start to take notice. His behavior has gotten real disrespectful, and when Sable mentions seeing Hermes and Hera coming out of a closet at a gala Tyche had thrown for the holidays, let’s just say, the shit gets real! 

Ares is under a lot of pressure to deliver big results on several things on his plate. Royce is still nowhere to be found, and the sudden disappearance of an important book that has all of his and Alroy’s illegal dealings goes missing. The urgency to find Royce becomes top priority over everything. Ares and Athena’s relationship has turned up a notch, and with Sable due to give birth soon, Ares is contemplating suing for sole custody and asking Athena to step in to be his unborn child’s mother. What’s going to happen when truths have to be told, and egos clash between Ares and Athena? Who’s going to win The War of the Hearts?

The stakes are high and everyone is playing for keeps. With Pat going to the grand jury to testify, Ares and Alroy are sweating bullets. Everything that Ares has worked hard to keep hidden is about to be exposed, and there’s nothing he can do about it. Athena’s behavior has been a bit strange and distant, but he feels it’s the stress from this case and Sable’s pregnancy that has him overeating. Only if some miracle could take place to get rid of all the common factors that are creating chaos, Ares would be able to breathe a sigh of relief. 

Hermes is at wits end over Tyche following him and busting out Hera’s window. He’s had to work extra hard to convince Hera to keep having an affair with him, but after Tyche’s little stunt, Hera isn’t having anything to do with him. As a result, Hermes has been acting more distant than ever towards her and people are starting to take note. Now, Tyche’s starting to reconsider what really matters in their relationship, because now she’s the one who has to satisfy Hermes…all the time, and that’s a full time job in itself. However, being the wife of the most powerful man in St. Louis meant everything to Tyche, and she refused to have it taken away. However, she has one more card to play and it could be the one that wins her the game. 

Athena is faced with a dilemma that she can’t escape, but she knew it was the best course of action for everyone involved. Protecting Ares was the bottom line that Athena felt was most important, and she would do whatever it took to keep him safe by any means necessary. That even included being accepting of his son with Sable. However, she knew that as long as she had his heart, a child wouldn’t be enough to take him away. Everyone will be tested and tempers will be high when the chips fall where they lay. Who will win and who will lose in this War of the Hearts?
